Summary: in on consignment and in my opinion a super fair price.
This is an early Lile Frontier Bowie with 8” blade, brass guard and pins and elephant ivory slabbed handle scales. Everything is in great shape, light handling and patina on the brass guard and pins but that’s about it. Script-signed “Hand Made by James B. Lile”, full tang construction with an overall length of 13”. This knife has not been used or resharpened, it’s been tucked away in a couple of collections for 45+ years. Easily excellent+++ or better condition, gorgeous knife
The belt sheath is original to the knife but not without a couple of issues. The male portion of the keeper strap has pulled away; while ugly, it’s an easy fix if you take the sheath in to your local cobbler for a replacement snap. Light handling front and back, someone wrote “Lile James Black” on the back... not sure what that’s about.
8 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This is a killer deal on an ivory handled Lile made 4+ decades ago, you’re not going to find one in better condition for any less. Thanks and good luck.
