Summary: a very early ivory handled model 22 boot knife made by Jimmy Lile. This knife has a 3-7/8" tool steel blade that is script signed "Hand Made by James B. Lile", a double brass hilt and brass pins, and elephant ivory handle slabs. Overall length of the knife is 7-3/4 – the knife has not been used. Condition is excellent+++ / unused with a few very light marks on the blade only visible if you turn the blade in direct light. (seriously small) The ivory slabs are near perfect, there’s a couple of very small checks at the front side pins, not going anywhere and simply mentioned for accuracy. (see photo 6)
The knife is paired to an original Lile issue boot / concealment sheath with metal clip on the back. The sheath fits the knife like a glove and is in excellent+++ condition with nothing more than a bit of age wear and a few small scuffs.
10 photos for review – as shown, a black canvas carry case is included. You won't find ivory Lile knives on eBay, and if you're lucky enough to find one at a gun show it'll be priced sky high. This particular knife was owned by a very dear friend of the Lile’s and comes with the COA from Marilyn, it’s been tucked away in a safe deposit box for years and years. Great piece for investment purposes -- very few early script signed ivory handled Lile knives were made. Thanks and good luck.
