Description
Summary: straight from the C.O.A., both the knife and sheath are in mint condition.
“This XL Trout & Bird from James Behring was made in his early Michigan days as a knife maker, when he was working with and for his dad, Jim, at Treeman Knives starting in 2005. The blade stamp, “J Behring Jr Handmade” was retired in 2011 when he officially started Behring Made in Missoula, Montana.
The blade is hand forged from3/16” thick high carbon 01 tool steel and measures 5-1/2” with a razor sharp convex grind. The brass guard is soldered in place above the black and white fiber, green micarta, aluminum and brass spacers, with a beautiful moose tine handle that is pinned with brass. The overall length measures just over 10-1/4” and it comes in a unique sharpening custom pouch sheath from Jack Mosher, with a James Behring Jr zipper case.”
6 photos for review -- as shown, the C.O.A. and a new black canvas carry case is included. (instead of the James Behring Jr. zip case described in the C.O.A. which was either lost or not sent with the knife) This is a collection / investment piece as it’s one of JR’s Michigan-made blades. Don’t miss out on these early JR’s I have for sale, his Michigan-made knives are only going to appreciate over time. Thanks and good luck.
